Sports Premium
St Mary’s Church of England Primary receives Sports Premium funding to help strengthen the quality and breadth of PE and sport for all pupils. Our aim is to ensure every child—regardless of ability—has regular opportunities to be active, develop fundamental movement skills, and build confidence through enjoyable, structured physical education.
We use the Sports Premium to enhance teaching and learning by supporting staff with specialist expertise, resources, and CPD where appropriate. This includes improving curriculum coverage, introducing high-quality equipment, and developing consistent approaches to lesson delivery so that pupils experience progressive learning across the year groups.
We also focus on participation and school sport beyond the classroom, supporting intra-school competitions, clubs, and opportunities to represent the school. We regularly review impact to ensure spending improves outcomes such as engagement in physical activity, participation in sports, and pupils’ health and wellbeing, with clear priorities for the year ahead.
