PSHE
At St Mary’s Church of England Primary, PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education) helps children build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to stay safe, form healthy relationships and make responsible choices. Our curriculum supports learning across areas such as wellbeing, friendships, respect, online safety, healthy lifestyles and financial capability, in a way that is age-appropriate and aligned with our Christian values. We aim to create a positive environment where pupils feel listened to, learn how to manage emotions and understand how their actions affect others.
We work in partnership with families to reinforce these messages at home. Through carefully planned lessons and age-appropriate discussions, children learn practical strategies for communication, coping with change and resolving conflict respectfully. Parents and carers are encouraged to support learning by talking with their child about feelings, friendships, healthy habits and digital safety.
