Safeguarding

At St Mary’s Church of England Primary, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We are committed to keeping all children safe and promoting their wellbeing. This includes protecting children from harm, identifying concerns early, and responding promptly and appropriately. Our staff follow clear safeguarding procedures and receive regular training so they understand their roles and responsibilities. We also work closely with families to ensure children are supported, listened to, and able to learn in a safe environment.

We encourage parents and carers to share any relevant information that may help us support your child. If you ever have a concern about a child’s safety or wellbeing, please raise it with the school as soon as possible, using the appropriate channels. We take all concerns seriously and will treat information sensitively. By working together, we can create a culture where children feel safe, respected, and valued, and where safeguarding remains a priority every day.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead at St. Mary's is Zoe Stevens (Headteacher). Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are Rachael O'Dell (Assistant Headteacher and SENDCo) and Natalie Chalk (Assistant Headteacher).
