Equality

At St Mary’s Church of England Primary, we are committed to promoting equality and ensuring that every child is valued, respected, and supported to achieve their best. We believe that all pupils, regardless of background, should feel safe and included, and that differences are understood and celebrated within our school community.

Our Equality Objectives set out the priorities we will focus on to improve outcomes and remove barriers to learning. These objectives guide how we plan for teaching, support, and opportunities across the school, including how we respond to individual needs and ensure fairness in access to learning and participation.

We also maintain an Equality Plan that outlines how we will meet our responsibilities in practice. This includes reviewing progress, monitoring the impact of our actions, and working with staff and families to strengthen inclusive approaches. Parents are welcome to engage with our plans and share any suggestions that can help us continue to improve equality for all children at St Mary’s.
